CHADBOURN, NC (WWAY) -- Police say they're trying to identify at least five young men who they say might be involved in Saturday's shooting death of a 16-year-old boy in Chadbourn. Now, new video of the crime has surfaced.

"This kid, he was set up," said Issac Alseraihi, an attendant at a gas station across the street from where Travis Bellamy, 16, was shot to death Saturday afternoon.

Alseraihi says Bellamy was a regular in his store.

"The kid was a nice dude," Alseraihi said.

Alseraihi was helping a customer Saturday when he heard gunshots.

"I see these kids outside screaming, and they tell me their brother got shot," Alseraihi said.

The security video from the gas station shows the two young men running into the store. Alseraihi thinks they knew the shooting was going to happen.

"I think so, 'cause they left him," he said.

Bellamy was hit twice: once in the head and once in the side.

"I see the kid laying down on the floor, and he was taking his last breath," Alseraihi said. "He got shot on the left side of his head. You could see his brain coming out."

Police say the shots came from down the street.

While the police tape is left from this shooting, there is a memorial just yards down the street. Folks in the area say it's from Bellamy's relative, who they say died in the same place last year. They told us and police confirmed the Z-6 floral arrangement stands for Zone 6, which denotes gang affiliation. Police say they do not know if this shooting was a result of gang activity.

"Somebody wanted to get him, and he probably knew at the same time something was gonna happen to him, 'cause he probably had to be a little nervous to have two guns on him," Alseraihi said.

Police say Bellamy had a 9 mm handgun and a .22 caliber pistol in his pockets, but it did not look like he fired either of the guns.

Folks around the area refuse to go on camera, but they tell us Bellamy was in a gang.

Friends and family WWAY has talked to all agree on one thing: they do not think travis bellamy was involved in any gang activity, and was instead set up.
