COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- The investigation continues into the shooting death of a Columbus County man Monday night.
The Columbus County Sheriff's Office says an autopsy in Raleigh yesterday determined Livis Charles Owens, Jr., died of a single gunshot wound that entered around his right shoulder and exited his body near his left shoulder.
Deputies found Owens's body around 11:45 p.m. Monday on Evergreen Church Rd. in Delco when they responded to a call for a person shot. It was the second time they had gone to the area for a shots fired call that night.
Investigators say they have done a walk-through of the crime scene with prosecutors and expect to present the case for review next week. That when any decisions on charges will be made.
The Sheriff's Office has not said if detectives have identified any suspects in the case.
