WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- Officials need the community's help in identifying the man found dead in a creek under a bridge.
Officials said a man in his 50s or 60s was discovered Monday afternoon near Red Hill Road. The body had been in the creek from four to 12 days and was shot several times.
The man is described as 5'10", 240 pounds and an unknown race. Investigators say there are no missing persons cases in the area that match the description of the victim. An autopsy was scheduled in Raleigh this week.
