With one vote difference, Tabor City booze referendum gets recount

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WWAY) -- There will be a recount on a referendum for selling mixed drinks in Tabor City.

Columbus County Board of Elections Supervisor Carla Strickland says the final vote was 133 for and 134 against the measure, so the board asked for a recount that might happen Monday.

Voters had to decided whether to allow the sale of mixed drinks at hotels, restaurants, community theaters and convention centers.
