DELCO, NC (WWAY) -- The Columbus County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a Delco man who died at New Hanover Regional Medical Center last night.
The Sheriff's Office says deputies responded to multiple calls concerning a possible assault and medical emergency. When they arrived to Evergreen Church Road shortly after midnight they assisted EMS with Randall Lamon Sharpless, 24. The Sheriff's Office said he appeared to have received a possible stab wound from an altercation with the homeowner.
A second man, whose name has not yet been released, was visiting the home at the time of the incident and received a minor laceration to his head during the fight. He refused medical treatment.
No charges have been filed at this time, and the case remains under investigation. An autopsy is pending.
