WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) -- A Columbus County jury this evening returned a guilty verdict in a 2011 murder case.
They found Albert Henry, 37, guilty of second-degree murder and possession of a firearm by a felon in the death of Chad Bellamy in Tabor City, according to District Attorney Jon David.
A judge sentenced Henry to between 12 years three months and 15.5 years in prison, David said.
Police arrested Henry on June 15, 2011, about nine hours after he shot and killed Bellamy in the 200 block of Bay Street in broad daylight. Investigators say the two men had been fighting before the shooting.
